PPL Celebrates 2023 World Environment Day

The plants at Paradeep and at Goa celebrated the World Environment Day on 05th June 2023. The special focus for this year's celebration was on combating plastic pollution.
At the Paradeep plant Shri P Behera, RO, State Pollution Control Board, Odisha graced the occasion as the chief guest. The celebrations witnessed flag hoisting, safety prayer, signature campaigns, tree plantations, quiz and painting competitions in our 2280 acres township with participation from employees and their families. “Prakruti Rath” was initiated as a maiden campaign to beat plastic pollution across the township and in the vicinity of nearby panchayat and villages.
Our Goa plant, in addition to the campus celebrations, organized a special curtain raiser event in association with the NGO Green Triangle Society in our campus. The key note address on “Beat Plastic Pollution” was delivered by Prof. Pradeep Sow of BITS Pilani Goa institute highlighting the need to dispose plastic and thermocol effectively.
As a sustainability driven corporate citizen, PPL continues to emphasize on taking care of environment in its path to further growth.
