After disinvestment on February 28, 2002, PPL has been revived to full strength with the employees' dedication and commitment under extremely difficult conditions. Remarkable achievements have been achieved in terms of financial turnover. From a loss of Rs. 23,026 lakh in the year 2001-02 the profitability of the Company has improved by achieving a profit after tax of Rs.1,210 lakh in 2005-06, Rs.10,928 lakh in 2006-07 and Rs. 8,356 lakh in 2007-08. 

In the 1st quarter ended 30th June, 2008 of the financial year 2008-09 the Company has  achieved a profit after tax of Rs. 4,702 lakh.

In the half year ended 30th September, 2008 of the financial year 2008-09 the Company has  achieved a profit after tax of Rs. 34,718 lakh.
